Our Worship Dance Ministry was
officially organized in 1999. A format was devised with goals
and objectives established by church leadership, church members and
the worship dance director. Incorporating biblical guidelines
for praise and worship, a personal commitment agreement is required
to be signed and upheld by our dancers. Our ultimate goal is
to honor the Lord with worship and praise through the expression of
dance.
As
most of our dancers study classical ballet, we predominantly use
ballet with some modern dance moves. Our aim is to effectively
interpret the lyrics of a given hymn or song and in this way
minister to the congregation.
The ministry is open to anyone who
wishes to participate. Church membership is not required,
although permission is required by the pastor for a non-member
wishing to join the troupe. Outside dance training is highly
recommended to enable the dancer to join the group with experience
and precision.
